Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Automate the software development life cycle (SDLC) pipeline from testing to deployment and validation.

• Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to deployment, identify root causes, and propose solutions across various environments.

• Develop and sustain automated testing frameworks for code modifications, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Create and manage test plans and cases for microservices, addressing relevant scenarios and edge cases.

• Collaborate with other engineering teams on integration testing.

• Recommend enhancements to testing environments.

• Explore requirements for secure deployment and rollback strategies.

• Confirm deployment prerequisites throughout the deployment process.

• Write and maintain scripts for automating platform service deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of pertinent experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proficiency in Python and Pytest.

• Strong understanding of contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Perl and Golang.

• Experience in debugging across environments and reproducing failing tests locally on x86 versus ARM, whether native or emulated.

• Knowledge of Debian packaging.

• Understanding of QEMU's TCG versus KVM acceleration.

• Solid Linux fundamentals, particularly in performance tuning.

• Experience with Bash and fundamental scripting.

• Proficient with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and SaltStack.

• Comprehension of modern software development life cycle processes.

• Knowledge of service level objective monitoring and alerting.
