Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain automated testing frameworks for back-end APIs and, where relevant, front-end components.

• Develop test automation solutions from the ground up or enhance existing solutions for both API and UI testing.

• Establish and implement a performance testing strategy utilizing JMeter (Java DSL).

• Guarantee extensive functional, regression, integration, and performance test coverage.

• Engage in requirements analysis and contribute to solution design from a quality assurance perspective.

• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure testability and automation throughout the development process.

• Maintain test documentation and assist in sprint planning and estimation efforts.

• Identify, report, and track bugs to foster continuous improvements in quality.

• Ensure QA deliverables comply with regulatory and industry standards, particularly within the FinTech sector.

• Contribute to the optimization of the CI/CD pipeline for automated testing using GitHub Actions.

• Mentor and provide guidance to a mid-level automation engineer.

• Work on a payment orchestration platform that integrates payment gateways, fraud prevention, and adheres to PCI DSS compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development or QA engineering.

• Previous experience in FinTech or e-Commerce sectors.

• More than 4 years of direct experience in test automation, with a strong emphasis on API-level testing.

• Proficient in Java/Kotlin, with practical experience using JUnit/TestNG, RestAssured, MockServer, and JMeter.

• Strong background in performance, load, and stress testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Playwright or similar tools for UI automation.

• Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with GitHub Actions.

• Good knowledge of SQL.

• Solid understanding of QA best practices, test pyramid principles, and the software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Strong grasp of payment systems, transaction flows, and associated compliance requirements.

• Experience in regulated environments is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper Intermediate (B2+) level.

• Fluent in Ukrainian.

• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure is a plus.

• Familiarity with containerized environments, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is an added advantage.
