Senior Techops Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the reliability, security, and automation framework of the contact center technology platform.

• Define the technical direction for infrastructure and make architectural choices.

• Design and execute CI/CD frameworks for serverless applications and those utilizing Kubernetes/Docker.

• Lead the transition to version-controlled infrastructure and manage the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy.

• Ensure production availability, performance, and resilience; establish and oversee SLOs/SLIs for 99.9%+ uptime.

• Manage the organization's security posture, which includes vulnerability scanning, IAM least-privilege policies, audit logging, and PCI DSS compliance.

• Collaborate with QA and Software Engineering to integrate DevSecOps practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Lead root cause analysis for intricate failures and implement preventive automation measures.

• Design and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.

• Mentor junior and mid-level TechOps engineers through reviews and knowledge transfer.

• Establish standards for TechOps documentation and processes.

• Work with stakeholders on evaluating technology and delivering the infrastructure roadmap.

• Report directly to the Technology Operations Manager and collaborate with Engineering and Security leadership.

• Act as the primary authority on infrastructure within the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release automation within complex, multi-environment systems.

• Proficient in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Advanced Kubernetes skills, including the design and troubleshooting of production container workloads.

• High-level proficiency in IaC using Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep, or similar tools.

• Proven experience managing PCI DSS compliance in a production setting.

• Strong background in security engineering, including IAM, vulnerability management, automated scanning, and audit logging.

• Ability to define and monitor SLOs/SLIs and convert reliability data into infrastructure enhancements.

• History of mentoring engineers and elevating team skill levels.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Self-motivated and highly organized; capable of thriving in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

• Preferred residence within a 50-mile radius of Salt Lake City, Utah, but not mandatory to be located in Utah.

• Willingness to visit the data center on a quarterly basis.

• Desirable experience with contact center platforms, SMS/telecom infrastructure and carrier APIs, B2B SaaS or telecom infrastructure, open-source DevOps or infrastructure tools, and AWS/Azure/GCP/Kubernetes certifications.
