This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, revise, and uphold standard operating procedures, user and support manuals, training and upskilling resources, configuration and workflow documentation, reports, and program outputs.
• Collect, evaluate, and synthesize technical information from subject matter experts, system documentation, meeting notes, and program artifacts.
• Review functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, and customer outputs for precision, clarity, coherence, and adherence to style and formatting guidelines.
• Convert technical and clinical information into accessible, comprehensible material suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences, including frontline clinical personnel.
• Investigate technical and clinical terminology while ensuring consistency throughout documentation.
• Oversee version control, document libraries, knowledge base content, templates, and style guidelines.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including Planning Interval planning, while managing documentation tasks within team commitments.
• Monitor deliverable deadlines and review processes, coordinating stakeholder and government reviews until final acceptance.
• Assist in producing executive and program-level communication materials, such as briefing presentations, summaries, and status reports.
• Offer quality review and editorial assistance to fellow writers and program staff.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
• Eight (8) years of professional experience in technical writing and editing.
• Extensive experience with computer-based systems and technical documentation.
• Proven understanding of medical and healthcare industry terminology.
• Capability to create user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports derived from technical source materials.
• Experience in editing functional descriptions, system specifications, and formal customer deliverables.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a VA Tier 1 / Public Trust background investigation.
• Experience supporting VA, VHA, DoD, or other federal health initiatives (preferred).
• Documentation experience related to electronic health record implementation, deployment, or optimization (preferred).
• Familiarity with a SAFe or other Agile delivery environment (preferred).
• Experience in producing government contract deliverables and adhering to a Performance Work Statement or deliverable schedule (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Visio, and Jira or Azure DevOps (preferred).
• Experience in developing or maintaining style guides, templates, and documentation standards for large programs (preferred).
• Ability to write clearly and concisely for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong editorial judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
• Skill in extracting information from subject matter experts and guiding documents to completion.
• Excellent organization and follow-through capabilities across multiple concurrent deliverables and deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, distributed program environment.
• Occasional travel as necessary.
