This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and product teams to define, design, create, and maintain essential documentation for Ping Identity products and services.
• Produce documentation for cloud-based services and/or on-premise software aimed at end-users, admins, developers, integrators, and DevOps personnel.
• Conduct investigations, research, and gain a thorough understanding of products and their underlying standards.
• Convert complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content, enriched with real-world examples and use cases.
• Advocate for documentation during product planning and feature scoping meetings throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Utilize AsciiDoc in a Docs-as-Code authoring and publishing environment, leveraging GitHub.
• Adhere to the software development lifecycle process to anticipate and identify documentation requirements.
• Provide constructive structural and technical edits for writers and developer-contributed content.
• Previous experience or exposure to software development, including knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards with minimal supervision.
• Capability to proactively explore unreleased features, test early-stage software, and gather insights independently while collaborating with engineering teams.
• Familiarity with markdown languages, version control tools, single-source techniques, metadata/tagging, and integrated development environments (IDEs).
• Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar project management tools.
• Proficiency in using AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) for code generation, use case creation, draft summarization, and style guide verification.
• Understanding of how documentation sites are constructed and published, including familiarity with Jenkins and Antora.
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively both in-person and remotely.
• Experience in providing constructive structural and technical edits for writers or developer-contributed content.
• Capability to create user-friendly content for human readers while structuring documentation for AI tools, search engines, and coding assistants.
• Experience in a Docs-as-Code environment is considered advantageous.
• Scripting/programming experience with Java, Bash, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.
• Experience in building, installing, configuring, and debugging client and server software is beneficial.
• Familiarity with documenting identity and access management applications for advanced users is an advantage.
• Experience in creating documentation for a developer audience, particularly API documentation, is advantageous.
• Ability to simplify complex content is a plus.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and tools are advantageous.
• Experience in writing and maintaining AI skill files and instructions for AI agents and developer tooling is a plus.
