This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
β’ Design and develop intricate supplier and product solutions that align with customer specifications through specialized quality and technical knowledge.
β’ Foster relationships with external suppliers, clients, and internal teams in Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
β’ Assist in external supply-base strategies and the selection of suppliers for components.
β’ Guide and mentor Supplier and Cummins professionals in relationship development, APQP execution, auditing, problem-solving, and quality enhancement.
β’ Offer manufacturing consultation to suppliers to establish Right First Time processes that adhere to engineering specifications, standards, and customer expectations.
β’ Utilize APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialized tools to create components with zero defects.
β’ Spearhead complex, product- and process-oriented continuous improvement initiatives employing lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
β’ Execute supplier audits aimed at risk mitigation, supplier readiness, and enhancing performance.
β’ Direct comprehensive supplier quality improvement initiatives.
β’ Conduct root-cause analyses, assist in the development of corrective actions, and validate the effectiveness of these actions.
β’ Coordinate cross-functional quality strategies and oversee supplier project implementation.
β’ Assess supplier product design, manufacturing processes, and validation procedures for reliability.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a similar technical field.
β’ Generally, 8 or more years of pertinent experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, or Supplier Development.
β’ In-depth knowledge of supplier quality systems and essential quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, Process Capability, 7Step/8D, and Root Cause Analysis.
β’ Familiarity with forging, machining, grinding, heat treatment, gear manufacturing, surface treatment, and metallurgical inspection.
β’ Proven ability to evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and identify technical risks.
β’ Experience in leading supplier development, new product introductions, localization, or source-change initiatives.
β’ Strong project management abilities, encompassing milestone tracking, risk management, action item follow-up, and stakeholder engagement.
β’ Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and decision-making skills.
β’ Proficient in written and spoken English, capable of leading technical discussions and engaging with global stakeholders.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as business needs dictate.
β’ Preferred experience in relevant manufacturing categories such as crankshafts, engine bearings, bushings, bearing interfaces, timing gears, power-transmission gears, or other precision-machined engine components.
β’ Preferred experience in supporting diesel engines, HHP engines, power systems, heavy-duty machinery, or industrial manufacturing.
β’ Knowledge of GD&T, engineering standards, manufacturing process design and validation, measurement process design, ISO 9001:2015, and IATF 16949.
β’ A position-related license may be necessary for compliance with export controls or sanctions.
