This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
β’ Develop intricate suppliers and products that satisfy customer needs.
β’ Foster relationships with external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, including Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
β’ Guide and mentor Cummins and Supplier Quality professionals.
β’ Assist in supply-base strategies and the selection of suppliers for components.
β’ Offer manufacturing consultation to suppliers to implement Right First Time processes.
β’ Utilize APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialty tools to create zero-defect components.
β’ Spearhead complex product- and process-focused continuous improvement projects employing lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
β’ Perform supplier audits for risk mitigation, supplier readiness, and performance enhancement.
β’ Direct quality improvement plans and address complex supplier quality challenges through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification.
β’ Facilitate technical discussions, prepare quality status reports, and coordinate cross-functional supplier quality initiatives.
β’ Bachelorβs degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
β’ Typically 8 or more years of pertinent experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, or Supplier Development.
β’ Extensive knowledge of supplier quality systems and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, process capability, 7Step/8D, and structured root-cause analysis.
β’ Relevant experience with fuel systems, turbochargers, pumps, precision-machined parts, or other intricate mechanical components.
β’ Strong comprehension of precision machining, assembly processes, cleanliness control, functional testing, leak testing, and management of critical characteristics.
β’ Capability to assess supplier manufacturing capabilities, process controls, technical risks, quality systems, and production readiness.
β’ Experience in leading supplier development, new product introductions, localization, capacity expansion, dual sourcing, or supplier transfer projects.
β’ Proficient in leading APQP, design and process reviews, source release, PPAP, Safe Launch, supplier audits, and corrective action initiatives.
β’ Excellent project management, technical problem-solving, data analysis, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Proficient in written and spoken English.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel to supplier, manufacturing, and customer sites as required by business needs.
β’ A college, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline is required.
β’ Preferred certifications include Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, IATF 16949 Lead Auditor, VDA 6.3 Process Auditor, or PMP.
