Senior Technical Services Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate classification and EXAP projects from the initial scope assessment to the completion of technical documentation.

• Create classifications, EXAP reports, and hardware performance sheets that adhere to relevant standards, ensuring clear evidence trails.

• Advise manufacturers on defining product ranges, specifying evidence requirements, planning tests, and analyzing scopes.

• Deliver expert technical guidance on testing, classification, and requirements related to the field of application.

• Analyze test data and exercise objective, proportionate judgment in complex product situations.

• Function as a recognized authority in areas including doors, walls, floors, service installations, linear joint seals, fire-resistant glazing systems, and smoke control dampers.

• Conduct peer reviews of highly technical documentation to ensure accuracy and rigor.

• Mentor colleagues in fire resistance and technical services.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with clients and represent UKTC at industry events and trade association meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or HNC-level qualification in physics, engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in fire resistance, passive fire protection, construction product testing, technical assessment, or manufacturing.

• Capability to independently prepare and conduct peer reviews of classification, EXAP, and associated technical performance documentation.

• In-depth knowledge of BS EN 1363-1, BS EN 1634-1, BS EN 1634-3, BS EN 1364-1, BS EN 1365-1, and BS 476: Part 22.

• Strong familiarity with BS EN 15269-1, BS EN 15725, and BS EN 13501-2.

• Extensive experience within a UKAS-accredited or equivalent ISO/IEC 17025 environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of responsibilities under the UK Construction Products Regulation.

• Solid practical knowledge of construction and awareness of risks associated with specimen installation and construction processes.

• Advanced skills in data interpretation, technical writing, and effectively communicating conclusions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

• High-level skills in customer liaison and account management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
