Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Center Build and Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the thirteen-gate delivery framework for the designated campus spanning active data halls or delivery phases.

• Ensure the quality of gate packages, maintain review schedules, ensure outcome discipline, and track conditional passes to closure.

• Manage the integrated schedule for campus design and construction, including critical path logic, gate milestones, interlocks, procurement commitments, and fit-out sequencing.

• Generate site status reports that consolidate into the portfolio view for the Director and executive leadership.

• Collaborate with general contractors, landlords, vendors, and colocation partners regarding scope, schedule, deliverable quality, readiness reviews, acceptance criteria, and service readiness.

• Maintain the campus risk register and decision log; identify obstacles, drive solutions, and escalate with options and recommendations.

• Coordinate Construction Engineering and Design, MEP Engineering, Network, and Operations through a unified site plan.

• Collect cycle-time data, document lessons learned, and enhance the shared delivery playbook.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in technical program management or delivery roles, with direct, hands-on responsibility for data center design and construction delivery.

• Proven experience in managing at least one large-scale data center or multi-phase campus from design through commissioning to service initiation.

• Proficient understanding of stage gate delivery governance, including written entry criteria, gate packages, and decision records beyond just status meetings.

• Personal proficiency in schedule logic at the Primavera P6 level or equivalent, critical path analysis, risk register management, and decision logging.

• In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power architecture (utility feeds, generators, UPS, switchgear, PDU, busway), cooling systems (including liquid cooling for high-density setups), structured cabling, fiber plant, and commissioning processes from factory acceptance to integrated systems testing.

• Proven ability to hold general contractors and vendors accountable without direct authority over them.

• Strong, structured written and verbal communication skills; escalate issues early, in writing, with attached recommendations.

• Regular travel to the assigned construction site, at least monthly, with extended on-site presence during energization and commissioning phases; estimated travel is 30 to 40 percent.

• Preferred qualifications include CDCDP, CDCP, or equivalent formal data center certification.

• Experience in delivering AI density whitespace is preferred.

• Background in hyperscale, GPU cloud, or AI infrastructure is preferred.

• Familiarity with both greenfield builds and colocation tenant deployments is preferred.

• Experience with GPU cluster deployment is preferred.

• Candidates located near Las Vegas or Richmond hubs are preferred.

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
