This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the product vision and roadmap for separating core data ingestion modules into scalable standalone microservices.
• Transform event-driven and streaming ingestion pipelines utilizing technologies such as Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming.
• Establish API contracts, event interfaces, and integration specifications for HL7 v2, C-CDA, FHIR JSON, and claims data sources.
• Define the requirements for migrating analytics pipelines to Databricks/Medallion Architecture using Apache Spark.
• Guide the design of optimized Silver and Gold datasets leveraging Delta Lake/Parquet columnar models.
• Balance real-time low-latency micro-batches with cost-effective daily batch workloads.
• Own product requirements for the FHIR-native Master Data Management engine.
• Define deterministic and probabilistic patient matching rules and survivorship logic for Golden Records.
• Design crosswalk management for source-to-target entity linkages.
• Construct the end-to-end exception lifecycle from Dead-Letter Queues to structured error reporting.
• Define Data Steward interfaces and APIs for reviewing exceptions, merging/unmerging records, and correcting payloads.
• Architect idempotent replay mechanisms for re-ingesting corrected payloads without introducing duplicates or corrupted states.
• Lead the transformation of Smile Digital Health’s high-throughput data ingestion and data management architecture.
• Over 5 years of Technical Product Management experience overseeing complex backend data platforms, distributed data engineering products, or big-data ingestion systems.
• Proven track record in productizing Apache Spark batch or streaming solutions and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Extensive knowledge of Databricks/Lakehouse Medallion Architecture and Delta Lake/Parquet performance patterns.
• Experience in optimizing nested arrays and hierarchical data structures for OLAP query engines.
• Direct experience in productizing Master Data Management, entity resolution, or identity matching tools.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, Dead-Letter Queues, and data replay/remediation workflows.
• Proficient in writing and executing SQL and Python for dataset analysis, engine output validation, and logic rule definition.
• Experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7 FHIR, C-CDA, or HL7 v2 (nice to have).
• Exposure to SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, or ICD-10 (nice to have).
• Familiarity with SQL-on-FHIR analytics standards (nice to have).
