Director, Technical Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete technical product execution for a product/experience stream from initial concept to launch and ongoing enhancements.

• Convert outcome-driven strategies into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and a backlog that is ready for release.

• Establish and uphold the scope, decision-making rights, and accountability boundaries among various teams.

• Facilitate cross-functional operating rhythms among Product, Commercial, Systems Engineering, Architecture, Program Management, and R&D.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Architecture to assess technical trade-offs, balancing speed, quality, compliance, and business value.

• Jointly manage release readiness alongside the Program Manager, focusing on dependency management, risk escalation, and ensuring launch quality.

• Integrate quality and compliance safeguards through shift-left testing, clear controls, and traceable decision-making.

• Propel delivery metrics aligned with streams and OKRs to enhance predictability, throughput, and customer impact.

• Assist in the adoption of reusable platforms and shared experience-services in collaboration with Platform & Delivery teams.

• Keep documentation and communication clear regarding technical product decisions and their justifications.

• Coordinate alignment within the Products & Experience operating model and engage with Technical Leads, Architects, and Program Managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Technical Product Management, Product Ownership, Engineering, or Technical Program Management.

• Solid technical proficiency in modern software delivery across mobile, web, and backend platforms.

• Preferably, hands-on experience with Go or React Native.

• Proven track record of successfully leading intricate, cross-functional initiatives within matrixed organizations.

• Demonstrated capability to break down vague business objectives into actionable engineering tasks.

• Strong skills in agile execution, encompassing backlog refinement, story mapping, sprint planning, and dependency/risk management.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including the capacity to influence without formal authority.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, med-tech, finance, or similar sectors.

• Familiarity with implementing EHR Interoperability solutions and services.

• Understanding of security protocols and architectures, such as mTLS and OAuth.

• Working knowledge of EHR systems, including Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and Athena.

• Experience in delivering secure solutions, implementing privacy by design, and adhering to regulatory requirements like HIPAA and GDPR.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevEx, observability, cloud platforms, and contemporary quality engineering practices.

• Experience in driving changes in operating models across multiple teams.
