Senior Technical Advisor – Surveillance Radar

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver subject matter expertise in radar system integration, operational functions, and lifecycle maintenance.

• Assist FAA surveillance initiatives through performance evaluation, troubleshooting, and modernization strategies.

• Observe, document, and report technical information related to FAA radar system installations and upgrades.

• Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with mission goals.

• Create and submit clear technical and status reports throughout the phases of site surveys, pre-installation, installation, testing, and acceptance.

• Alert higher Peraton authorities to significant risks, issues, and opportunities along with their potential impacts on the schedule.

• Supervise on-site and vendor technicians while keeping track of equipment installation timelines.

• Ensure adherence to FAA regulations.

• Monitor systems post-installation and during acceptance testing.

• Coordinate with site technicians and vendors on calibrations, alignments, and further testing to enhance ATC systems.

• Support updated radar systems to provide superior detection capabilities and improved data accuracy.


⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• 12 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; or 16 years without a degree.

• Extensive hands-on technical experience, including maintenance of moderately complex systems such as radars, radios, or networks.

• Capability to implement conflict resolution and deconfliction measures.

• Ability to operate autonomously in agile environments with minimal oversight or managerial control.

• Strong critical thinking skills and adherence to processes and procedures.

• Willingness to travel 75%; anticipated travel is 1 month on-site followed by 2 weeks of remote work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in assessing large volumes of relevant data and producing comprehensive technical reports under time constraints.

• Effective and clear communication with all stakeholders.

• Familiarity with radar operations, ATC systems and operations, and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products and business applications is preferred.
