Senior Technical Accounting Manager – U.S. GAAP, SEC Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and assess the accounting implications of significant new, complex, or infrequent transactions.

• Draft technical accounting position papers and memos for review by Financial Reporting and SOX leadership.

• Stay updated on new and emerging Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) and SEC guidance.

• Oversee accounting policies and spearhead the implementation of major accounting changes.

• Utilize Big 4 accounting research tools and training materials.

• Create technical accounting analyses related to revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, EPS, debt, equity, investments, and other intricate matters.

• Review and authorize the creation and upkeep of the Chart of Accounts.

• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of workpapers for Forms 10-Q and 10-K.

• Manage and execute key SOX controls within designated areas.

• Collaborate with external auditors on walkthroughs, documentation requests, and technical accounting issues.

• Ensure comprehensive, audit-ready documentation is maintained.

• Work together with Compensation to predict stock-based compensation expenses.

• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business teams regarding accounting and reporting ramifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Active CPA certification.

• Over 8 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Significant experience in Big 4 public accounting.

• Strong, up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards.

• Capability to research technical accounting topics and produce clear, well-supported position papers and memos.

• Experience with stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), revenue (ASC 606), debt, and business combinations.

• Experience in a public company environment.

• Working knowledge of SOX internal controls and the external audit process.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced financial closing environment with ownership and independence.

• Technical accounting or National Office experience is preferred.

• Experience in the Fintech or SaaS industry is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle is preferred.

• Familiarity with Workiva is preferred.
