Senior Taxation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the go-to expert for tax planning advice for Facet members.

• Meet with 5–10 members weekly to discuss available tax strategies and provide educational insights.

• Evaluate 15–20 member profiles each week, offering recommendations based on their tax circumstances and broader financial objectives, in collaboration with Financial Planners.

• Engage directly with members to address their tax inquiries in line with their service tier.

• Investigate tax-related issues to formulate effective tax planning strategies.

• Collaborate with the Head of Planning on tax advice within the framework of Facet’s financial planning methodology.

• Develop tax withholding recommendations tailored for members.

• Provide education to teammates and members on tax-related inquiries.

• Analyze complex income tax returns and evaluate Roth conversion strategies and their ramifications, including IRMAA, healthcare subsidies, and the taxability of Social Security.

• Clarify charitable donation strategies, such as DAFs and QCDs, along with their tax implications.

• Implement rental property strategies that involve depreciation, expense deductions, PAL rules, and 1031 exchanges.

• Offer general guidance on business structures and assess the tax implications of business sales.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in leading a comprehensive tax preparation solution.

• More than 7 years of experience in personal tax preparation and advisory roles.

• Possession of CPA Designation or EA.

• Capability to identify tax issues as they emerge.

• Extensive knowledge of employee stock option plans (RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, etc.).

• Profound understanding of tax laws and regulations, particularly regarding their effects on individuals.

• Experience within a firm focused on financial planning (preferred).

• Ability to manage multiple client engagements in a dynamic environment (preferred).

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (preferred).

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills (preferred).

• Client-first mindset, professional demeanor, integrity, and understanding of fiduciary responsibilities (preferred).
