This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
⢠Oversee the comprehensive preparation, examination, and timely submission of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax returns, as well as quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
⢠Conduct or review calculations for quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions, encompassing current and deferred tax computations, effective tax rate reconciliations, and disclosures in financial statements.
⢠Execute technical tax research and analysis regarding changes in federal and state tax laws, apportionment methodologies, and the evolving standards of income tax nexus.
⢠Assist in federal and state income tax audits by managing information document requests and defending established tax positions.
⢠Take ownership of and implement SOX controls within the income tax closing process.
⢠Prepare or review monthly and quarterly reconciliations of tax accounts, which include deferred tax assets/liabilities and income tax payable accounts, utilizing NetSuite.
⢠Collaborate with the Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Legal teams concerning the impact of new entities, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing arrangements on income tax and SOX controls.
⢠Work together with external preparers, advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.
⢠Minimum of 5 years in progressive roles focused on direct/corporate income tax (federal & state), ideally combining public accounting and corporate experience.
⢠Strong foundational understanding of ASC 740 and U.S. federal/state corporate income tax principles.
⢠Experience working within a SOX-controlled environment or familiarity with SOX, including the design, execution, and documentation of income tax controls, along with supporting control testing for internal and external auditors.
⢠Knowledge of tax considerations relevant to rapidly growing, multi-state SaaS companies, including apportionment and modernized state income tax regulations.
⢠Acquaintance with industry-standard ERPs and financial data systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
⢠Experience with tax provision and compliance platforms like Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE suite or Corptax.
⢠Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities, such as pivots, VLOOKUPs, and data manipulation.
⢠Familiarity with tools like Power BI, Alteryx, or other dashboard and data manipulation software is advantageous.
⢠Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
⢠CPA designation or Master of Taxation degree is highly desirable.
⢠Capability to swiftly adapt to shifting priorities and manage rapid organizational growth.
⢠Proven ability to leverage data for identifying tax issues and implementing automated solutions.
⢠Skill in simplifying complex tax provision and compliance concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
