Senior Systems Verification, Certification Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.

📋 Description

• Assess and revise specifications and requirements for landing gear systems.

• Evaluate requirements related to landing gear systems from external suppliers.

• Oversee requirements management and ensure complete end-to-end traceability.

• Analyze changes in requirements and assess their impact on the system and current verification evidence.

• Assist in the verification of safe-landing requirements.

• Review current verification and validation strategies.

• Examine supplier testing plans, procedures, qualification results, and reports.

• Review and analyze existing qualification and certification documentation.

• Ensure that the existing evidence sufficiently verifies the relevant system requirements.

• Identify any missing, incomplete, or inadequate verification and compliance documentation.

• Conduct assessments to identify gaps in verification and compliance.

• Specify additional verification tasks or test cases when gaps are found.

• Create or revise verification plans, compliance reports, and certification documents.

• Assist in the preparation of necessary means-of-compliance documentation.

• Collaborate directly with external landing gear suppliers and internal engineering teams.

• Monitor ongoing verification tasks and assist in their resolution.

• Contribute to the Landing Gear Program in achieving certification readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7 to 15 years of pertinent aerospace engineering experience.

• Willingness to work on-site in Burlington, VT (preferred) or remotely during Eastern Time hours.

• Extensive experience in aircraft systems engineering, verification, qualification, or certification.

• Direct experience with landing gear systems is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with reviewing technical and verification outputs from third-party aerospace suppliers.

• Experience in requirements management and ensuring traceability.

• Proficient in reviewing verification plans, qualification test procedures, results, and reports.

• Skilled in identifying verification and compliance gaps.

• Experience in preparing or reviewing certification and means-of-compliance documentation.

• Ability to work autonomously as a technical subject matter expert.

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

• Capable of collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Proficient with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar solutions.
