Senior Systems Engineer – West Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver high-level remote IT support and technical assistance across designated client environments.

• Act as an escalation point for Junior Systems Engineers and Systems Engineers.

• Guide engineers through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, documentation, and best practices in support.

• Oversee and resolve intricate support requests via the ticketing system.

• Manage Microsoft 365 technologies, which include Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID.

• Provide support for Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity and access management, and endpoint management technologies.

• Diagnose issues related to networking, virtualization, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure.

• Assist with Microsoft Azure workloads and contribute to cloud and infrastructure projects.

• Implement and maintain enterprise networking technologies, including firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.

• Balance technical escalations, support tickets, project tasks, and research or improvement initiatives.

• Enhance technical documentation, procedures, wiki articles, and build standards while adhering to strict change-control protocols.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to technical standards, support capabilities, and client environments.

• Collaborate with engineers, Client Technology Managers, and technical teams to address escalations and sustain client environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant IT experience in systems engineering, systems administration, desktop support, infrastructure support, or a similar technical setting.

• Proficient end-user and desktop support experience across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common workplace technologies.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 support, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity and access management, and related systems administration technologies.

• Experience with endpoint protection or threat management solutions such as Sophos or comparable technologies.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar technologies.

• Strong networking expertise, covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VPN, routing, switching, wireless networking, DMZ concepts, and firewalls.

• Experience implementing or supporting enterprise networking equipment such as Palo Alto or Cisco firewalls, Cisco switches, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or similar technologies.

• Experience with workloads and services within Microsoft Azure.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both technical and non-technical users.

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers or support staff.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced Managed Services environment.

• Capacity to work remotely within the United States during business hours on the West Coast / Pacific Time.

• Preferred: Experience in Managed Service Providers, particularly with ConnectWise or similar platforms.

• Preferred: Background in financial services supporting hedge funds, private equity firms, investment managers, or similar organizations.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, or Capital IQ.

• Preferred: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure.

• Preferred: Experience with Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Duo, Okta, AirWatch, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: Background in supporting Citrix XenApp or similar virtual application technologies.

• Preferred: Experience with CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Cylance, Mimecast, Proofpoint, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: Advanced experience with Nimble, Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell EMC, VMware, Hyper-V, or XenServer.

• Preferred: Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, or similar technologies.
