Senior Systems Engineer, SRM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Analyze and decompose requirements from customers and stakeholders, derive them, and assign them to system and subsystem elements using DOORS.

• Develop and sustain databases for risks and opportunities.

• Support trade studies and conduct design research to identify optimal requirements and system architecture.

• Create system and subsystem design documentation, which includes interface definitions, system schematics, and system description documents.

• Develop and implement system verification processes.

• Establish MBSE processes, procedures, templates, and best practices.

• Create, review, and present Cameo models to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead or assist in system engineering technical reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.

• Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentation materials.

• Conduct peer reviews of the work done by team members.

• Develop and evaluate test plans and reports.

• Assist in the planning and execution of subsystem and system testing.

• Oversee the overall systems infrastructure, which includes engineering, implementation, integration, technical services, and support.

• Design, implement, install, maintain, and manage infrastructure hardware, software, and configurations.

• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and optimize systems.

• Conduct root cause analysis on failed components and apply corrective actions.

• Establish and enhance processes and procedures.

• Lead projects or specific project components and take part in disaster recovery drills.

• Collaborate with internal and external project team members, company leadership, and clients.

• Associate's Degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience.

• A degree in engineering is mandatory.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Possess technical expertise.

• Strong analytical thinking capabilities.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Comprehensive conceptual and practical knowledge in one's job discipline.

• Basic understanding of related job disciplines.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended durations.

• Requires regular movement within GD-OTS facilities.

• May involve working indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying climatic conditions and/or operating machinery.
