Senior Systems Engineer, ServiceNow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Ensure that hardware systems, their operating systems, and connectivity features remain fully functional and integrated within the IT environment.

• Oversee, assess, and strategize upgrades to guarantee sufficient capacity and availability.

• Offer technical leadership and assistance for computing systems and their integration.

• Conduct analyses on performance and capacity, providing recommendations and presentations based on findings.

• Maintain an extensive understanding of server and distributed systems.

• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors and manufacturers.

• Respond swiftly to customer inquiries and manage issues to resolution.

• Assist application teams with both project and support tasks.

• Engage in communication with customers, project teams, and IS team members.

• Formulate strategies for system-to-network connectivity and interfacing.

• Review technology projects, analyze business needs, recommend system modifications, draft technical specifications, and implement changes.

• Identify and put into practice technology best-practice standards.

• Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, scopes, effort projections, timelines, and final strategies.

• Set and uphold standards, policies, and procedures for local-area networks.

• Participate in technology planning initiatives.

• Integrate the expertise of vendors, manufacturers, and technical professionals into the organization.

• Serve as a mentor and resource for immediate and application teams.

• Foster collaborative efforts within the IS team and adapt to shifting priorities.

• Contribute to the IS Knowledge Repository.

• Provide necessary on-call support.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the core discipline.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in the core discipline within the healthcare sector is preferred.

• On-call support provision is mandatory.

• Successful completion of a criminal-history background check is required upon hiring.

• Completion of an authorization and disclosure form for the background check is necessary.
