Senior Systems Engineer – Logistics, Open Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, integrate, support, and enhance CVS Health’s automated distribution center technology platforms.

• Provide Tier III support for critical Supply Chain systems within 24x7 fulfillment environments.

• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents related to automation, controls, integrations, or warehouse execution functions.

• Examine application logs, database activities, message queues, interface traffic, PLC communications, and vendor support diagnostics.

• Implement disaster recovery, rollback, and business continuity procedures.

• Facilitate the expansion, optimization, and operational readiness of AutoStore environments.

• Collaborate with robotics vendors and operational teams to enhance system availability and throughput.

• Design infrastructure, controls, networking, and redundancy improvements to accommodate future AutoStore growth.

• Assist in the validation, testing, and deployment of new AutoStore functionalities and infrastructure enhancements.

• Lead medium- to large-scale modernization projects for Distribution Centers.

• Develop technical documentation, deployment procedures, and testing strategies.

• Coordinate efforts among vendors, operations teams, infrastructure teams, and project management organizations.

• Support capital investments and technology evaluations for emerging logistics technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications, automation platforms, or logistics technology environments.

• At least 5 years of experience with Warehouse Management, Warehouse Execution, or Warehouse Control Systems.

• Experience in supporting high-availability production systems in a 24x7 operational setting.

• Proven track record of delivering large-scale software implementations and system integrations successfully.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• A high school diploma along with 4 years of relevant work experience can be considered as an alternative educational pathway.

• Strong technical expertise, leadership, troubleshooting, and complex project delivery skills are essential.
