Senior Systems Engineer – ERP Architectural Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver senior systems engineering and technical coordination across SRP, SAMS, OCI, infrastructure, Oracle applications, databases, integrations, 3PL interfaces, and associated services.

• Oversee infrastructure operations, maintenance, availability, capacity, monitoring, patching, backup/recovery, and lifecycle activities.

• Manage technical priorities and collaborate with teams across cloud, systems administration, database, network, cybersecurity, application, and vendor domains.

• Maintain a comprehensive view of system architecture, infrastructure dependencies, technical challenges, priorities, risks, and anticipated changes.

• Track operational readiness and facilitate the resolution of technical issues, dependencies, actions, and escalations.

• Assist in architectural and engineering decisions regarding infrastructure, integration, data flows, availability, performance, security, resilience, and operational readiness.

• Organize planned maintenance, upgrades, releases, infrastructure changes, and other activities impacting production services.

• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for intricate cross-system and infrastructure challenges.

• Evaluate proposed enhancements and changes for architecture, infrastructure, dependencies, technical viability, and operational risk.

• Aid in data-quality, integration, and synchronization architecture across SAMS and external systems.

• Convert mission and operational requirements into system-level specifications and technical strategies.

• Facilitate technical planning and collaborative sessions among engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Oracle SMEs, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, DBAs, developers, integration engineers, cybersecurity personnel, vendors, and Government stakeholders.

• Maintain architecture diagrams, infrastructure documentation, technical baselines, engineering artifacts, operational procedures, and technical roadmaps.

• Promote modernization and continuous improvement as mission requirements, cloud capabilities, Oracle technologies, and infrastructure evolve.

• Participate in on-call services and respond to critical incidents within 15 minutes.

• Support HHS ASPR's Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), including the SRP/SAMS ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of pertinent experience, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

• Extensive experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations/management, enterprise systems, technical architecture, systems integration, or similar complex IT environments.

• Proven experience in coordinating infrastructure operations and technical tasks across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Experience in managing technical dependencies, operational priorities, maintenance activities, incidents, risks, and changes within complex IT settings.

• Proficient understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including servers, virtualization/cloud, storage, networking, monitoring, backup/recovery, security, and configuration management.

• Experience in analyzing complex systems, interfaces, dependencies, technical risks, and operational challenges.

• Ability to translate business and operational requirements into system-level technical specifications and solutions.

• Demonstrated capability to organize technical teams and drive issues, dependencies, actions, and decisions to resolution.

• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required Tier 2 background investigation/suitability determination and HHS PIV access.

• Must meet SNS 24x7 on-call and 15-minute response time requirements.

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

• Must reside within the United States.

• Preferred strong experience with Oracle EBS/ERP and OCI.

• Experience with Oracle EBS/ERP.

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Background in supporting ERP or other large enterprise business systems.

• Experience leading or coordinating infrastructure operations for mission-critical enterprise systems.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, Linux, networking, storage, monitoring, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.

• Experience in supporting supply chain, inventory, warehouse, logistics, or asset-management systems.

• Proficient in data integration, APIs, EDI, ETL, system interfaces, or synchronization architecture.

• Experience assisting with cloud modernization, migrations, upgrades, and technology refreshes.

• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe and DevSecOps environments.

• Experience supporting federal, HHS, public health, emergency preparedness, or other mission-critical systems.
