Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Manage global infrastructure and ensure service availability

• Oversee RMA processes and refresh equipment

• Execute colocation migrations as necessary

• Conduct server patching and system upgrades

• Engage in on-call rotations and address security incidents

• Develop data center solutions utilizing infrastructure as code

• Design scalable hybrid cloud architectures that integrate public-cloud IaaS with physical data centers

• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to guarantee that software components function in a production-grade environment

• Enhance visibility into network operations and ensure resilience during component failures

• Choose, assess, and deploy servers

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred

• Experience in systems administration with Linux and ESXi

• Proficiency in Python development

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible and Terraform

• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub

• Knowledge of L2 and L3 OSI network layers

• Practical experience with the VCF stack

• Administrative-level knowledge of public cloud service providers

• Understanding of capacity management and availability monitoring

• Experience with monitoring tools and platforms like AIOps, Wavefront, LogicMonitor, ELK Stack, and SaltStack
