Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design, analysis, and verification & validation of designated subsystems within the autonomous vehicle system architecture.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement autonomous driving systems.

• Establish and monitor KPIs to facilitate data-driven engineering and optimize system performance.

• Develop data collection and analysis pipelines that support verification and validation processes.

• Create and maintain requirements documentation, traceability, and system architecture artifacts.

• Define system behaviors for critical safety scenarios and contribute to the development of robust designs.

• Identify risks early and coordinate solutions and mitigations with relevant teams.

• Mentor junior engineers and enhance team engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 4 years of experience working on autonomous systems or safety-critical systems.

• Practical experience in systems engineering, including the V Model, requirements documentation, traceability, and verification & validation.

• Basic skills in Python and SQL.

• Experience contributing to interdisciplinary teams involved in developing and deploying robotic systems or autonomous vehicles with safety-critical components.

• Familiarity with functional safety and SOTIF concepts.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.

• Willingness to actively engage in hands-on engineering tasks.

• A Master's degree in a related technical field is preferred.

• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Flow, Polarion, or Enterprise Architect is preferred.

• Working knowledge of safety standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, IEC 61508, or ISO 3691 is preferred.
