Senior Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and supervise essential systems, including job schedulers, backup operations, and automated data workflows.

• Diagnose and rectify issues related to systems, networks, and applications.

• Administer the archiving and long-term preservation of logs, documents, and critical records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Streamline regular tasks like backups and deployments through scripts and configuration management tools.

• Serve as the primary escalation contact for IT support, addressing system outages, service disruptions, and urgent incidents affecting users.

• Track system performance and capacity trends, suggesting and executing enhancements.

• Work collaboratively with development, security, and DevOps teams.

• Keep documentation updated for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting manuals.

• Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent incidents.

• Set and uphold high standards for operational processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing risks.

• Foster opportunities for team members to exchange knowledge, insights, and best practices.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years in system administration or IT infrastructure positions.

• Extensive experience in Windows and/or Linux environments.

• Proficient scripting abilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages).

• Strong understanding of backup, archiving, and disaster recovery methodologies.

• Knowledge of automation/orchestration tools.

• Familiarity with database management and archiving, particularly with SQL Server.

• Comfortable in hybrid or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Strong communication and documentation capabilities.

• Experience in supporting compliance initiatives (SOC2, PCI, etc.) is advantageous.

• Willingness to operate within CorServ's service areas (AL, FL, GA, IA, KY, NE, NC, TN, TX, WI, WY).
