Senior System Engineer, Linux

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Execute project-focused infrastructure transformation initiatives

• Oversee Linux systems management

• Conduct lifecycle management activities

• Implement configuration management processes

• Automate systems and workflows

• Set up and maintain automation platforms

• Manually and automatically deploy and patch Linux distributions

• Manage and scale systems and workflows utilizing Ansible

• Reverse engineer systems and platforms as needed

• Engage with virtualization and observability technologies

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

• Provide managed services for a premier IT infrastructure provider in the Netherlands

• Collaborate with a senior engineering team from Poland on global projects

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and experience with configuring and maintaining Automation Platforms (preferably AAP/AWX)

• Advanced skills in configuring and managing Linux distributions including RHEL, OL, and Ubuntu

• Proficient in manual and automatic deployment and patching techniques for Linux distributions

• Shell scripting expertise along with proficiency in at least one other programming language, preferably Python

• Experience using Ansible for large-scale system and process management

• Background in reverse engineering systems and platforms

• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code principles

• Experience with observability stacks based on Prometheus/Grafana/Loki

• Proven ability to create and maintain technical documentation

• Project management experience is essential

• Knowledge of IPAM and IAM systems

• Basic understanding of networking principles

• Familiarity with system firewalls and storage solutions

• Knowledge of OpenStack is considered a plus
