This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Assist in the selection and onboarding of suppliers by evaluating their capacity and technical/manufacturing capabilities.
β’ Lead or carry out first-piece qualifications, which include design reviews, audits of special processes, test witnessing, and inspections of in-process and final products.
β’ Engage in pre-purchase order award meetings and contribute to assessments of supplier performance.
β’ Facilitate quarterly supplier quality review meetings and initiate quality improvement plans for suppliers.
β’ Collaborate with engineering during supplier project kick-off meetings and develop supplier surveillance plans.
β’ Conduct reviews of supplier requirements and participate in design review meetings.
β’ Create and review inspection/test plans and special process procedures for suppliers.
β’ Plan and implement audit strategies based on data and risk assessments.
β’ Perform comprehensive process audits, special process audits, and product inspections.
β’ Generate audit reports and maintain tracking systems for audits.
β’ Assist with the release of materials for shipment by addressing supplier deviation requests, reviewing end-of-manufacturing reports, confirming containment status, and authorizing shipments.
β’ Oversee supplier technical deviations, non-conformances, and field complaints.
β’ Lead root-cause investigations and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
β’ Conduct containment measures and assist vendors with recovery, including liability comments.
β’ Analyze supplier-related failure data to promote ongoing improvement.
β’ Propel initiatives for supplier quality enhancement, including holistic audits, PFMEA/DFMEA development, DSQR implementation, and the installation and commissioning of supplier technical advisors.
β’ Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier quality.
β’ Serve as the Commodity Coordinator and primary point of contact for interface functions.
β’ Aid in the development of SQE technical competencies and the implementation of lessons learned.
β’ Support project team activities related to ITO and engage in Global Quality Value Stream initiatives.
β’ Lead and mentor teams in resolving major customer issues and conducting root-cause analyses.
β’ Prepare standard quality requirements for projects.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Quality Engineering, or an equivalent technical field from an accredited institution.
β’ Extensive experience with supplier qualification processes (PPAP or equivalent).
β’ Over 8 years of relevant experience in quality, operations/supply chain, or project management, ideally within the Power Generation/Aerospace sector.
β’ Proficient in understanding technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
β’ Strong knowledge of gas turbine design and components.
β’ Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, welding, heat treatment, coating, machining, assembly, and NDT, as applicable.
β’ A solid mindset focused on safety, compliance, quality, and lean principles.
β’ Proven capability in employing industrial quality tools for risk assessment, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and manufacturing process controls.
β’ Ability to effectively manage time in a global team environment and adapt to meetings across different time zones.
β’ Willingness and flexibility to travel to supplier facilities globally, up to 30% of the time.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
β’ Competence in interpreting engineering drawings, models, and standards.
β’ Desired certifications in special processes such as NACE coatings, CWI welding, or NDT Level 1-3, and training in methodologies like 5-Why, 8D root cause analysis, or ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor training.
β’ Experience with the operation, design, or inspection of power industry equipment, including gas turbine components and mechanical or electrical skids.
β’ High-level understanding of gas turbines and aerospace equipment and components.
β’ Experience interacting with customers and senior leadership.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
