This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.
• Oversee intricate first- and third-party auto and commercial injury claims, including those that are litigated.
• Manage claims across various states in a virtual environment.
• Assess coverage inquiries and make approval determinations.
• Offer guidance and settlement authority for cases that exceed the representatives’ authority.
• Potentially oversee the First Notice of Loss injury queue.
• Serve as the claims liaison in partner states, fostering relationships with partner clubs, commercial clients, and brokers.
• Supervise the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of claims.
• Direct, manage, and evaluate the workflow of claims.
• Track staff goals, targets, file quality, customer service reports, surveys, and feedback.
• Provide technical expertise and review files alongside adjusters.
• Manage phone queues and engage in committee review processes.
• Communicate and enforce policies, procedures, safety regulations, and Department of Insurance mandates.
• Oversee daily operations of the business unit across multiple shifts.
• Suggest operational enhancements and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Collaborate with various departments on projects.
• Generate Quality Assurance Reports.
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and decision-making related to hiring.
• Share accountability for budget planning and business unit outcomes.
• Manage disaster response efforts across multiple states.
• Act as a subject matter expert on claim issues and navigate legislative and DMV regulatory reviews.
• Conduct trend and competitive analysis to pinpoint process enhancements.
• Evaluate training requirements, coordinate employee training, and encourage staff development.
• Coach, mentor, assess, and carry out performance evaluations.
• Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, and terminations.
• Implement counseling, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures in collaboration with management and Human Resources.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace.
• Translate enterprise strategies and priorities for team members.
• Travel as necessary for enterprise, divisional, team, and other in-person meetings.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in casualty or bodily injury claims within a claims setting.
• Technical experience in managing claims pertinent to the roles of supervised adjusters.
• High School diploma (HS)/GED or 3 years of customer service experience in a virtual setting utilizing internet, phone, and chat features.
• Must possess an Adjuster license for all applicable states or secure the necessary license(s) within 90 days of accepting the position as a condition of employment.
• Experience with Commercial Auto, Rideshare, and/or TNC claims is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate in Claims (AIC), CPCU, and/or ICAR designations are beneficial.
