Senior Structural Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with structural engineers and engage with engineers from various disciplines.

• Mentor and guide less experienced members of the project team.

• Contribute to engineering projects for new nuclear facilities as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants.

• Utilize expertise in materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.

• Prepare and review design calculations efficiently.

• Create and develop specifications.

• Assist designers in the development of drawings.

• Provide guidance in the creation of engineering deliverables.

• Conduct structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using computer-assisted tools.

• May require travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.

• Lead or supervise automation and process improvement initiatives involving engineering calculations, technical document summaries, design documentation, and AI-enabled workflows.

• Review outputs from automated engineering tasks and provide direction on the application of AI or agentic AI tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Minimum of five years of experience as part of a project team involved in structural design and analysis.

• Skilled in using structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.

• Familiarity with design codes and standards including ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Must not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.

• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Experience in the design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures is advantageous, but not essential.

• On-site construction support experience is a plus, but not required.

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure is preferred, but not required.

• Willingness to lead others utilizing modern tools such as automation and AI is essential.

• Additional education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is a plus, but not essential.
