Senior Storage Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance features for Vultr's storage product line, emphasizing reliability, performance, scalability, and customer requirements.

• Work collaboratively with product, engineering, and operations teams to establish technical criteria and shape product strategy.

• Manage the daily operational integrity of storage platforms, which includes troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Develop reference implementations and produce technical documentation, training resources, and onboarding materials.

• Spearhead proof-of-concept projects, product assessments, and performance evaluations of storage functionalities.

• Create and refine automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and streamline deployment processes.

• Generate and maintain knowledge articles and runbooks for engineering, support, and sales teams.

• Advocate for best practices in storage architecture, implementation, and operations both internally and externally with clients.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies to guide Vultr's storage product strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in storage systems engineering, encompassing product development, enablement, and operational tasks.

• Established track record in building and managing distributed storage solutions, preferably with Ceph or similar technologies.

• Strong expertise in Linux systems and scripting languages, including Python and Bash.

• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and containerization technologies, such as KVM and Kubernetes.

• Proven proficiency in technical documentation, enablement, and training initiatives.

• Capability to assist in defining technical specifications with cross-functional teams.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
