Senior Stakeholder Engagement – Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders in government, industry, and advocacy sectors.

• Identify key stakeholders, assessing their influence and interests to inform outreach strategies.

• Represent the program at industry events, conferences, and public discussions.

• Assist with media outreach and public engagement activities that showcase program initiatives.

• Act as a liaison with the USDA Office of External Affairs and the State Public Information Officers of RD.

• Contribute to newsletters, case studies, and other communications directed at stakeholders.

• Facilitate the recruitment of new program participants and maintain outreach efforts with current participants.

• Engage in regular project status updates and planning sessions with program leadership.

• Provide support for the USDA Rural Development BioPreferred Program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Around 7 years of professional experience in managing, engaging, and fostering relationships with individuals or groups in a stakeholder-facing capacity.

• Proven ability to identify stakeholders, assess their influence and interests, communicate effectively, and cultivate enduring relationships.

• Must successfully pass a federal (USDA) background check and secure a government-issued PIV credential.

• Previous experience in agricultural, biobased industry, or federal public affairs/communications roles is preferred.
