Senior Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop solutions for monitoring, troubleshooting, and gathering telemetry from Equinix’s global network.

• Propel infrastructure automation for the configuration management of over 2,000 VMs, numerous Kubernetes clusters, and more than 600 on-premises servers.

• Guarantee consistency across more than 120 distributed Equinix data centers.

• Collaborate with international teams in AMER, EMEA, and APAC on security, networking, and platform standards.

• Execute GitOps methodologies for deployments, drift management, and the developer portal.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with internal customers and product stakeholders to create scalable solutions.

• Partner with technical project managers and product management teams to outline and strategize multiple projects.

• Engage in on-call shifts with established processes and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in managing on-premises Kubernetes clusters at scale.

• In-depth expertise in Linux systems.

• Practical experience with Proxmox and/or VMware.

• Knowledge in virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g. QEMU, KVM, LXC, Docker).

• Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

• Proficient with CI/CD tools (e.g. ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

• Understanding of secrets management processes and tools, including HashiCorp Vault.

• Background in distributed systems.

• Desirable experience with networking and routing.

• Familiarity with Kafka and ClickHouse.

• Willingness and ability to work within agile methodologies.

• Comfortable in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, coupled with a problem-solving approach.
