Senior Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and swiftly prototype AI agent systems, which include LLM-based, multi-agent, and agentic workflow architectures.

• Collaborate closely with Fortune 500 stakeholders to gain insights into data ecosystems, governance challenges, and business goals.

• Convert customer requirements into technical roadmaps that leverage Alation's Knowledge Layer functionalities.

• Construct and implement BI and ML pipelines that transform cataloged data into insights suitable for executive-level decision-making.

• Work alongside Deployment Strategists to align technical delivery with quantifiable business results.

• Establish repeatable and scalable solution patterns for Forward Deployed Engineering and Deployment Strategist teams.

• Contribute customer edge cases, patterns, and AI use cases to the Product and Engineering roadmap.

• Create and develop internal tools, accelerators, automation frameworks, and reusable components.

• Perform competitive analysis and deliver actionable insights to Product and GTM teams.

• Provide mentorship to field engineers and customer-facing technical teams regarding agentic AI, data governance, and Alation platform architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering, with notable time spent in customer-facing technical leadership roles such as FDE, Solutions Architect, or equivalent positions in the CTO office.

• Extensive hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks including LangChain, AutoGen, and CrewAI.

• Familiarity with vector databases, RAG architectures, and fine-tuning ML models for enterprise applications.

• Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale BI and data pipeline solutions.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and cloud-based data warehousing.

• Experience in predictive modeling.

• Architectural proficiency across distributed systems, enterprise data governance, metadata management, and compliance-grade data platforms.

• Capability to write high-quality production code quickly and iterate efficiently.

• Proven ability to influence delivery methodology, solution patterns, or technical standards beyond individual projects.

• Executive presence and high emotional intelligence, with the ability to foster trust with Fortune 500 CDOs and technical stakeholders.
