Controls Systems Commissioning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Lead the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial operations, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants.

• Conduct pre-checks, system energization, and network verification across devices and subsystems.

• Oversee and carry out loop checks, functional testing, and protection testing with thorough documentation and operational logs.

• Handle system turnovers from installation through commissioning to final customer handover.

• Diagnose complex hardware and software issues.

• Evaluate control logic against engineering design documents.

• Execute HMI screen modifications and alarm configurations.

• Implement and uphold EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety inspections, and subcontractor compliance monitoring.

• Ensure that commissioning activities comply with site safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Provide technical feedback and comprehensive site reports to engineering and project teams.

• Manage the inventory of commissioning test equipment, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely returns.

• Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Willingness and capability to travel for extended field assignments (up to 100%) throughout the United States and internationally.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• A desire for continuous learning and personal growth.

• Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure field environments.

• Clear and confident communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
