Controls Systems Commissioning Engineer

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Lead the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial operations, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants.

β€’ Conduct pre-checks, system energization, and network verification across devices and subsystems.

β€’ Oversee and carry out loop checks, functional testing, and protection testing with thorough documentation and operational logs.

β€’ Handle system turnovers from installation through commissioning to final customer handover.

β€’ Diagnose complex hardware and software issues.

β€’ Evaluate control logic against engineering design documents.

β€’ Execute HMI screen modifications and alarm configurations.

β€’ Implement and uphold EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety inspections, and subcontractor compliance monitoring.

β€’ Ensure that commissioning activities comply with site safety standards and regulatory requirements.

β€’ Provide technical feedback and comprehensive site reports to engineering and project teams.

β€’ Manage the inventory of commissioning test equipment, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely returns.

β€’ Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

β€’ Willingness and capability to travel for extended field assignments (up to 100%) throughout the United States and internationally.

β€’ A deep intellectual curiosity paired with a genuine enthusiasm for energy, technology, and innovation.

β€’ Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

β€’ A desire for continuous learning and personal growth.

β€’ Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure field environments.

β€’ Clear and confident communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

β€’ Legally authorized to work in the United States.

β€’ Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
