Senior Staff Engineer, PCB Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop PCB layouts for intricate digital, analog, RF, high-speed, and power electronics designs.

• Organize and oversee PCB stack-ups in collaboration with fabrication vendors and manufacturing engineers.

• Analyze schematics, routing guidelines, and design objectives alongside electrical engineers.

• Work in conjunction with mechanical engineers on board form factor integration, positioning of connectors, and placement constraints.

• Implement best practices for signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, impedance control, thermal management, and EMI mitigation.

• Facilitate design reviews and incorporate feedback to enhance manufacturability, reliability, and compliance.

• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, which includes Gerber/ODB++ files, fabrication and assembly notes, and technical drawings.

• Verify that designs adhere to supplier DFM requirements in partnership with manufacturing engineering.

• Convert schematics and requirements into durable, manufacturable PCBA designs.

• Engage in stack-up design, constraint management, mechanical placement planning, technical drawings, and manufacturing outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in PCB layout for production hardware, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Strong knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-2221/2222, IPC-7351, etc.).

• Understanding of PCB materials, manufacturing processes, and stack-up construction.

• Knowledge of controlled-impedance routing, differential pairs, length matching, and high-current power distribution.

• Proficient in scripting and automation.

• Experience with Altium Designer.

• Familiarity with simulation tools for layout design validation.
