Senior Staff Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the analytical evaluation of Netlify’s product-led growth performance across activation, engagement, conversion, monetization, and retention.

• Proactively identify opportunities before they manifest as requests.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to transform behavioral insights into product initiatives.

• Establish experiments, measurement methodologies, success metrics, and the interpretation of outcomes.

• Guide experimentation from hypothesis formulation through to decision-making, encompassing study design, methodology, safeguards, analysis, and recommendations.

• Apply statistical rigor and assist teams in developing sound judgment for decision-making.

• Create scalable analytical systems including semantic models, reliable metrics, proactive monitoring, and AI-driven agents.

• Leverage AI to expedite investigations, automate routine analytical tasks, and explore more hypotheses.

• Identify and address gaps in measurement, event instrumentation, and metric definitions in collaboration with Data and Product Engineering.

• Act as a trusted analytical partner to PLG leadership.

• Shape investment decisions, roadmap priorities, and product strategy through evidence and informed product judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product analytics, growth analytics, or data science.

• Proven track record of high ownership with measurable impact on PLG or consumer product outcomes.

• Profound understanding of activation, engagement, conversion, monetization, and retention dynamics.

• Capability to convert behavioral data into product hypotheses and guide them through experimentation and measured results.

• Extensive expertise in experimentation, including study design, statistical reasoning, and causal inference.

• Experience in constructing metrics layers, monitoring frameworks, or semantic models.

• Active utilization of AI tools to speed up investigations, automate repetitive tasks, and uncover patterns.

• History of influencing senior stakeholders and product direction through analytical reasoning and clear recommendations.

• Ability to work independently in uncertain problem environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in distributed settings.
