Data Scientist – Energy Efficiency, Demand Side Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Support the planning, designing, and execution of research and sample design initiatives to enhance program evaluations.

• Perform both primary and secondary data collection alongside statistical and econometric analysis.

• Utilize statistics and econometrics to assess and interpret data, generating conclusions and recommendations for clear reports.

• Streamline and automate data-flow processes, including file imports/exports and refresh cycles.

• Create data visualizations tailored for industry clients.

• Examine collected data using analytical software to detect trends, summarize program activities, and ascertain causal effects.

• Adhere to standards of data integrity and quality, following established frameworks, templates, naming conventions, coding standards, and best practices in data management.

• Present research findings, conclusions, implications, and recommendations during presentations and meetings.

• Review work for accuracy and implement corrections as necessary.

• Collaborate with DSM Analysts, Data Scientists, and Engineers, and potentially take on leadership roles within teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, simulation, and machine learning techniques.

• Familiarity with widely-used data science tools, particularly R, alongside Python and MATLAB.

• Experience with the analysis of large and intricate data sets, demonstrating a strong ability in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.

• Master’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, or another quantitative or social science discipline.

• Background in supporting research-focused data analysis.

• 1-3 years of experience in data science or applied statistical analysis; the job level will be aligned with experience and qualifications.
