Senior Staff Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and internal controls initiatives for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

• Provide guidance and support to DLA in maintaining compliance for fully auditable financial statement reporting.

• Evaluate business processes, including policies and procedures related to personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management.

• Aid in the design and execution of the ERM process for audit-related activities.

• Review Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) and collaborate with stakeholders on remediation strategies.

• Identify deficiencies and risks in financial statements, conducting root-cause analysis to create comprehensive recommendations.

• Test business processes and system controls.

• Assist in the deployment of management solutions, including the development of training programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business management-related field from an accredited institution.

• Four years of experience in accounting or finance, including supervisory responsibilities over staff.

• Experience in financial statement audits or the preparation of assertion packages.

• Knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, OMB A 123, and FASAB.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Experience with GAAP, GAGAS, and ICOFR.

• Familiarity with OMB Circulars A 123, A 127, A 134, A 136, and other OMB policies.

• Knowledge of FASAB, SSAC, and SFFAS.

• Experience with DoD and DLA financial management policies and procedures.

• Understanding of DLA policies, systems, and procedures concerning personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management.

• Familiarity with FMS.

• CPA, CIA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM certification is preferred.

• Experience with Celonis is a plus.

• Ability to successfully pass a background investigation.
