Senior / Staff AI Engineer, Systems & Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and execute new functionalities for Littlebird, a personalized AI assistant for Mac and Android.

• Design the architecture that enables the agent to reason, retain information, and evolve over time.

• Construct the core infrastructure that transforms unstructured user data into a cohesive world model.

• Design and implement an advanced AI memory system that goes beyond traditional vector-based memory.

• Develop systems for extracting entities and relationships from unstructured text at scale.

• Model facts and relationships that change over time.

• Create efficient graph-based retrieval mechanisms for rich, structured agent context.

• Design clear interfaces between the agent planner and various tools/modalities.

• Develop tools for debugging and monitoring agentic flows.

• Scale data ingestion and hybrid search using BM25 and vector search, along with re-ranking pipelines.

• Collaborate asynchronously across different time zones.

• Extensive experience in building and scaling data-intensive backend systems using Python.

• Strong understanding of data structures and their associated trade-offs.

• Practical experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
