Senior Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other activities related to the general ledger.

• Create and maintain reconciliations for balance sheets along with supporting schedules.

• Aid in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and various accounting functions.

• Examine financial transactions and investigate any unusual activities or discrepancies.

• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.

• Ensure precise accounting records and documentation are maintained in compliance with GAAP.

• Assist with annual audits, tax submissions, and other compliance obligations by preparing necessary schedules and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with FP&A, Human Resources, Legal, Procurement, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.

• Help uphold and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation practices.

• Identify opportunities to automate or simplify manual accounting processes.

• Support the implementation and enhancement of finance systems and workflows as Skylo expands.

• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and various accounting projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.

• Experience with month-end closing, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets.

• High attention to detail with the capability to maintain accuracy while juggling multiple priorities.

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaborate with various teams.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

• CPA certification or progress towards it is a plus.

• Experience in a high-growth technology firm is advantageous.

• Familiarity with SaaS, telecommunications, hardware, or other technology sectors is beneficial.

• Experience with ERP and financial systems like NetSuite is a plus.

• Previous involvement in audits and implementation of accounting controls is desirable.

• Experience working with international entities or global accounting operations is a plus.
