This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Prepare accruals for revenue and expenses, vendor accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, goodwill amortization, rebates, cash reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, term debt interest and principal accounting, elimination journal entries, and other monthly accounting responsibilities.
• Conduct general account, vendor, and business analysis substantiation while ensuring the accuracy of records and procedures.
• Assist in Financial Planning and Analysis initiatives by documenting business activity and analyzing financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Support the Financial Planning and Analysis team in the development of budgets and forecasts.
• Engage in annual audits and tax preparation by supplying substantiation documentation and reconciliations to public accounting teams.
• Manage a calendar of state and city tax filings and adhere to franchise tax, business tax, and other tax authority regulations.
• Investigate internal and external customer inquiries regarding the monthly performance of business units.
• Safeguard confidential information and advocate for Redwood Logistics’ interests.
• Adjust to internal policy modifications and undertake additional duties as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• 4-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant and/or Auditor.
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards, financial reporting controls, and process improvement.
• Proficient in using Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, MS Excel, and MS Access.
• Capability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge and ability to utilize relevant information technology systems to enhance accounting and reporting processes.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish; proficient in verbal and written communication.
