Revenue Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary IFRS technical accounting expert for Digital Science.

• Conduct research and provide guidance on the accounting treatment of new or intricate transactions, products, and amendments to IFRS standards.

• Oversee revenue recognition accounting in accordance with IFRS 15 for item-code and contract revenue across various entities.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of deferred revenue, ensuring alignment with billing and accounts receivable records.

• Develop and enhance revenue recognition policies and related documentation.

• Collaborate with FRPA and Finance Business Partnering to ensure consistency of ARR metrics with statutory revenue recognition.

• Work alongside Product and Commercial teams regarding revenue treatment for new products, pricing strategies, and contract structures.

• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to address billing and revenue-related inquiries.

• Assist with both external and internal audits, focusing on revenue-related balances and disclosures.

• Uphold internal controls related to revenue recognition and suggest improvements.

• Be responsible for the formalization and documentation of revenue recognition policies across various product lines.

• Identify and execute process enhancements and opportunities for automation.

• Ensure precise IFRS 15 revenue recognition, monthly reconciliations of deferred revenue, documented technical guidance, consistent reporting of ARR and statutory revenue, audit support with no significant findings, and planned process improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting, including hands-on experience with IFRS 15.

• Proficient in NetSuite and advanced Excel skills.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience are preferred.

• Familiarity with SaaS/subscription and/or B2C transactional revenue models is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of IFRS 15 and the ability to make revenue recognition judgment calls.

• High level of accuracy in item-code, contract, and deferred revenue reconciliations.

• Capacity to work collaboratively across functions with FRPA, AR, and Product/Commercial teams.

• Adaptable to changes as products, contracts, and pricing models evolve.

• Proactive, hands-on, and responsible for achieving results.
