Senior Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Prepare revenue and expense accruals, vendor accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, goodwill amortization, rebates, cash reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, term debt interest and principal accounting, elimination journal entries, and other monthly accounting tasks.

• Conduct general accounts, vendor, and business analysis substantiation while upholding meticulous records and procedures.

• Aid Financial Planning and Analysis efforts by documenting business activities and reporting on financial performance compared to budgets and forecasts.

• Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team in the formulation of budgets and forecasts.

• Engage in annual audits and tax preparation by providing necessary substantiation documentation and reconciliations to public accounting teams.

• Oversee a calendar for state and city tax filings, ensuring compliance with franchise tax, business tax, and other regulatory requirements.

• Investigate internal and external customer inquiries related to the monthly performance of all business units.

• Safeguard confidential organizational information and advocate for Redwood Logistics’ interests.

• Execute additional duties as required to fulfill future business needs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

• CPA designation is preferred.

• 4-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant and/or Auditor.

• Familiarity with financial reporting standards, financial reporting controls, and process improvement.

• Proficient in using Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, MS Excel, and MS Access.

• Capacity to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal oversight.

• Knowledge and proficiency in applicable information technology systems to enhance accounting and reporting processes.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish; capable of proficient verbal and written communication.

• Must reside in Monterrey or Queretaro, Mexico.
