Senior SRE Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guarantee the availability, performance, security, and ongoing enhancement of Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB environments.

• Serve primarily as an AWS Cloud DBA in critical mission environments.

• Leverage SRE, DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) proficiency to boost the scalability and operational effectiveness of these environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a DBA managing AWS environments.

• Extensive experience with Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB.

• Proficient in administering, supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing databases in mission-critical settings.

• Expertise in relational and NoSQL data modeling.

• Advanced understanding of high availability and disaster recovery, including Always On, Multi-AZ, read replicas, failover, and contingency strategies.

• Experience with backup, restore, snapshots, replication, and data recovery in distributed systems.

• Solid background in performance tuning, query analysis, indexing, partitioning, and workload optimization for both SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with monitoring and implementing observability for databases using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and related tools.

• Knowledge of AWS Backup, retention policies, compliance, and data governance.

• Comprehensive understanding of DynamoDB, encompassing Global Tables, DynamoDB Streams, partitioning strategies, and performance-driven data modeling.

• Advanced knowledge of database-specific EC2 instances and management of AWS resources linked to the data layer.

• Awareness of SRE practices applied to the data layer, including observability, availability, capacity management, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Proficient in automating administrative tasks utilizing Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation concerning databases.

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control and change management.

• Knowledge of .NET and Node.js applications to assist in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and database integration.
