📋 Description

• Lead a team of DevOps engineers, focusing on performance management, growth planning, and career development.

• Take ownership of the DevOps team roadmap alongside the Director of Platform Engineering, including setting quarterly priorities and capacity planning.

• Drive technical decision-making and oversee architecture reviews for CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and platform tooling.

• Collaborate with leadership from engineering, data platform, data governance, and IT operations on cross-functional initiatives and shared standards.

• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and incident retrospectives.

• Represent the team in executive discussions, including roadmap reviews, FinOps reporting, and architecture councils.

• Partner on governance for AI tooling, focusing on approved platforms, usage policies, and measuring the impact on engineering productivity.

• Design, develop, and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with reusable workflows, self-hosted runners, and security controls.

• Implement and manage Terraform infrastructure as code across multiple AWS accounts.

• Oversee Kubernetes EKS clusters, including ArgoCD-based GitOps delivery, ingress management, observability, and security policies.

• Manage HashiCorp Vault for secrets management, including dynamic credentials, JWT/OIDC authentication, and integration with the External Secrets Operator.

• Develop and maintain observability tools using Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes-native monitoring stacks.

• Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews, creating runbooks and reliability enhancements.

• Implement security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation across the platform.

• Contribute to AWS network architecture, including PrivateLink, VPCs, and cross-account access patterns.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of practical experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.

• At least 2 years in a technical lead or team lead role.

• Proven experience as a working manager or tech lead, balancing individual contributor responsibilities with team leadership.

• Extensive experience with Terraform infrastructure as code, including modules, state management, and multi-account patterns within AWS Organizations.

• Production experience with Kubernetes, particularly EKS, and GitOps delivery, ideally using ArgoCD or Flux.

• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, encompassing security scanning, artifact management, and self-hosted runners.

• Proficient in scripting with Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management platforms.

• Experience with cloud-based networking, including VPCs, private connectivity, DNS, and identity-based access controls.

• Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or their equivalents.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience in regulated environments, such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or GDPR.

• Familiarity with data platform components like Databricks and Kafka.

• Understanding of FinOps practices and cloud cost governance.

• Experience working within Agile teams and influencing engineering practices across various product areas.

• Experience integrating AI coding assistants into team workflows, including establishing usage norms and security practices.

• Ability to translate technical decisions into language that resonates with executive stakeholders.

• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and enhancing team performance.
