This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.
• Deliver technical advisory services to clients in the food, land, and agriculture sectors concerning GHG measurement and monitoring, as well as climate mitigation and adaptation strategies, including regenerative agriculture.
• Monitor the status and trajectory of key standards such as the GHG Protocol and SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard.
• Oversee and manage technical advisory requests related to emissions and regenerative agriculture initiatives.
• Create knowledge products and training materials that align with industry standards.
• Perform research and compile presentations, reports, memoranda, and communication materials.
• Work collaboratively with small teams, offering guidance and leadership while producing high-quality outputs.
• Assist in the development of work plans and new business proposals.
• Execute qualitative technical analyses, engage in quantitative problem-solving, and carry out quantitative data collection and analysis.
• Complete responsibilities in a fast-paced, self-driven environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in international development or a related environmental field is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in climate change adaptation, mitigation, resilience, and GHG accounting for land use is required.
• Familiarity with GHG profiles and potential mitigation strategies for applicable commodities.
• A working knowledge or experience in preparing submissions or reports in accordance with GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets Initiative standards, or Value Change Initiative.
• Proven experience in managing GHG accounting projects within the agriculture and forestry sectors.
• Experience in leading or supporting initiatives for new business development.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in public speaking.
• Ability to manage project operations, workflows, deadlines, multiple tasks, and maintain composure under pressure.
• Understanding of carbon quantification methodologies, sustainability product certification standards, carbon credit project development, and GHG monitoring, reporting, and verification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Required professional-level fluency in oral and written English.
• Capability to sit and operate a computer for extended periods.
• Availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
• Ability to work from a time zone that falls between Pacific Time and Central European Time.
