This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to assess and qualify both new and existing suppliers, including those located internationally.
• Formulate and implement strategies for supplier engagement during the expansion of MAC capacity and the ramp-up of production.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, and technical capabilities to meet missile production requirements.
• Drive early supplier involvement to enhance manufacturability and ensure comprehensive quality planning.
• Assist in developing capabilities and process improvements to support long-term growth in production.
• Provide both technical and strategic guidance on supplier quality performance, quality planning, risk management, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Utilize data-driven approaches and statistical tools to bolster supplier capabilities, minimize variation, and avert defects.
• Implement advanced quality engineering concepts throughout the entire lifecycle of suppliers.
• Perform supplier risk evaluations and execute mitigation strategies accordingly.
• Create supplier quality plans, process controls, and inspection methodologies.
• Engage in MRB, change review boards, and configuration management activities.
• Lead intricate supplier investigations and ensure prompt closure of SCARs.
• Expect to travel approximately 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
• A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 6 years of relevant quality experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related quality experience; alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related quality experience may suffice in lieu of a degree.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A current passport is necessary for approximately 50% of domestic and international travel.
• Must be able to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
• Expertise in aerospace materials and manufacturing processes is essential.
• Experience in supplier qualification is required.
• Familiarity with composites, EPDM elastomers, phenolic materials, or specialty chemicals is preferred.
• Knowledge of Metal Case and Flowforming processes is advantageous.
• Experience with precision machined components is required.
• Understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and AS9145 standards is important.
• Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
• Previous experience with MRB processes is preferred.
• Experience in supporting missile systems or defense aerospace programs is a plus.
