Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of quality for a React Native mobile application and a Next.js web experience supported by Java/Spring Boot services and a Node BFF.

• Conduct manual and exploratory testing for both web and mobile releases.

• Utilize browser developer tools to identify and troubleshoot issues.

• Debug React Native applications on actual devices, simulators, and emulators.

• Analyze Datadog logs, dashboards, error tracking, and session replays.

• Test REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, role-based access, service-to-service interactions, data pipelines, retries, idempotency, and edge cases.

• Create comprehensive bug reports that include reproduction steps and supporting documentation.

• Develop and maintain regression suites as well as release checklists.

• Enhance automation coverage and leverage AI-assisted tools for test generation, log analysis, and investigations.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams throughout the development and release processes.

• Report on test coverage, defects, and release risks.

• Establish team standards for test coverage, bug intake, triage, and readiness for release.

• Confirm fixes and promote ongoing improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be authorized to work in and reside in Mexico.

• Comfortable utilizing browser developer tools to inspect JavaScript errors, network requests, payloads, status codes, headers, storage, and device emulation.

• Experience in testing and debugging React Native applications on real iOS and Android devices, as well as simulators and emulators.

• Ability to read native device logs and crash reports, along with using React Native debugging tools.

• Experience in designing and building automated test suites from the ground up using Playwright for web and Maestro for mobile.

• Proficient with Postman or similar API testing tools.

• Basic knowledge of SQL, particularly Postgres, and comfort in reading structured application logs.

• Familiarity with Datadog or a similar observability platform.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions.

• Regular use of AI tools in daily tasks.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of TypeScript and React.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Jest and Testing Library.

• Nice to have: Experience with Optimizely or LaunchDarkly.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of Segment, Mixpanel, or Braze.

• Nice to have: Experience with Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Jira and test case management tools.

• Nice to have: Experience in accessibility and performance testing.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of Gatling, Artillery, or similar load testing tools.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with TestFlight, Play internal testing, and over-the-air update processes.
