This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• Oversee subcontract activities related to specialized materials, equipment, and services that support defense and aerospace initiatives.
• Create subcontract specifications, statements of work, sourcing strategies, and establish terms and conditions.
• Prepare bid packages, solicit proposals, conduct bidders’ conferences, and assist in the selection of subcontractors.
• Analyze and assess subcontract proposals with respect to technical aspects, cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, schedule commitments, and other business stipulations for subcontracts.
• Issue subcontract awards and manage subcontracts throughout their complete lifecycle, which includes performance monitoring, funding actions, modifications, and closeout procedures.
• Evaluate supplier financial, schedule, technical, and performance risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate and negotiate changes, additions, deletions, and other modifications of subcontracts with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with program management, contracts, engineering, supply chain, quality, finance, and other functional teams.
• Maintain subcontract documentation and facilitate audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and reporting.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of subcontract policies, procedures, and processes.
• Sign supplier agreements and purchase orders within the limits of delegated authority when applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant contracts experience, or a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related contracts experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related contracts experience may substitute for a degree.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Experience in supporting defense, aerospace, or governmental contracting sectors.
• Background in subcontracts, contracts, procurement, supply chain, purchasing, or supplier management.
• Proven experience in developing solicitations, evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontracts, and managing subcontract administration.
• Competence in managing subcontract cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
• Familiarity with subcontract documentation, terms and conditions, and the lifecycle processes of purchase or subcontracts.
• Proficient in using enterprise resource planning systems or similar business management platforms.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and subcontract flow-down stipulations.
• Experience in drafting statements of work, requests for proposals, and subcontract terms and conditions.
• Understanding of cost analysis, price analysis, and subcontractor risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience in administering various subcontract types including cost-reimbursement, fixed-price, and time-and-materials.
• Working knowledge of ITAR and EAR export compliance requirements.
• Experience in managing subcontract modifications, funding actions, earned value considerations, or initiatives for supplier performance improvement.
