Senior Specialist, Pension Administration

📋 Description

• Lead the Calculations and Special Projects team to drive success and growth in Business and Client Services.

• Manage special pension administration initiatives, acting as the data manager for plan termination projects.

• Support pension calculations and review documentation and calculation tools related to special initiatives.

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and Marsh consultants.

• Oversee pension calculation, data, and risk transfer projects in the role of Project Manager.

• Act as the liaison for clients, administration, and processing teams.

• Govern special project tasks, budgets, client-agreement terms, and out-of-scope work.

• Lead and participate in team and project meetings.

• Facilitate communication between internal and external teams.

• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate data projects for plan terminations.

• Identify crucial data elements for cleanup and plan termination initiatives.

• Create data requests based on plan specifications.

• Draft specifications for database data imports and exports.

• Analyze findings related to missing data and their impact.

• Track and update data corrections from various sources.

• Assess the downstream effects of data updates and missing information.

• Reconcile populations at critical project milestones.

• Calculate and review both qualified and non-qualified benefits, including QDROs, 409A, employee contributions, late retirement increases, and RMDs.

• Create and maintain Access- or Excel-based calculation checkers.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• 5-7 years of experience in defined benefit administration.

• Prior experience in project management and client relationship management.

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Word.

• Proficiency in MS Access is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Demonstrated ability to identify, research, follow up, and resolve issues or challenges encountered in project work.

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing time effectively.

• Ability to navigate difficult client situations and develop strategic solutions.

• Knowledge of current government regulations and IRS Code.
