This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the efficient functioning, supervision, and ongoing enhancement of Ontario’s Common Collection System, concentrating on the City of Toronto and Peel Region.
• Ensure that contractual, operational, and regulatory standards are upheld among participating stakeholders, including the CCS Operator (RLG) and service providers.
• Communicate with the CCS Operator, City of Toronto, Peel Region, and service providers concerning agreements, regulatory responsibilities, daily operations, change orders, and any issues that arise.
• Discover opportunities for enhanced material recovery, cost efficiency, service enhancement, process optimization, and pilot initiatives.
• Record and disseminate findings while aiding in the creation of new best practices.
• Offer assistance to other Eligible Communities in Ontario as needed.
• Cultivate subject matter expertise in relation to Ontario Regulation 391/21.
• Gain a thorough understanding of Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work.
• Generate accurate, timely, and data-driven reports, including field service activity summaries.
• Collaborate with CM Post Collection and Material Quality and Innovation teams.
• Assist with project management responsibilities and deliverables for the CCS team and the Manager of the Common Collection System – ON.
• Participate in events and third-party meetings as required.
• Must reside in Ontario, Canada.
• A Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or equivalent management experience in a relevant field is mandatory.
• Over 4 years of experience in a regulated environment related to recycling collection systems, encompassing contracts, operating standards, performance metrics, and outcomes.
• Familiarity with procurement and contract management processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Jira.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities involving multiple stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, planning, and execution capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Experience collaborating with senior executives, service providers, and municipal representatives.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic environment characterized by constant change, growth, and innovation.
• Professional judgment and decision-making aptitude.
• Ability to creatively approach problem-solving.
• Skill in translating technical information into clear and comprehensible messages.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
• Experience and/or knowledge of First Nations consulting and contracting practices and processes will be considered an asset.
